The tense atmosphere began at 8.00 am in the morning yesterday.........
Quoting news sources, life in the district was mostly centred on television sets , with the Assembly poll results heading for a ‘photo finish. Although it was a working day, there was less traffic on roads. Attendance was thin even in offices. There was much speculation on whether the BJP would open its account in the Assembly this time, but the news was disappointing.
Even when it was almost sure that the UDF would come to power, there was hardly any jubilation on the streets. Victory celebrations in the city were subdued on Friday, possibly because no political front was able to register an overwhelming win in the State Legislative Assembly elections. There were no huge marches or boisterous motorcycle rallies as witnessed after the announcement of the results to the local body elections last year. Supporters of victors distributed sweets in certain neighbourhoods. Several winners toured their constituencies in open vehicles to thank voters. The counting day started on a lazy note in the district. The announcement of results affected routine work in most government offices.
Do you really think there is such a need for all this havoc...? Utter wastage of money, time and effort is the result of the same....
Its high-time for us to think over it.............Use your time, money and energy usefully and beneficially rendering your service for the mankind.
